Kathleen GARDUÑO Obituary

GARDUÑO, Kathleen passed away peacefully on March 16, 2017 surrounded by her family. Known to many as "Sissy", she was born in San Francisco, CA on June 17, 1950. She grew up in Peñasco, NM and after moving to Tucson, AZ, attended and graduated from Sunnyside High School. Kathy, as she was known in school, was a licensed masseuse and esthetician for much of her life and lived in Santa Fe, NM for the past 25 years. Sissy is survived by her sisters, Ramona (Raúl) Grijalva, Georgetta (Steve) Platt, Monica (Randy) Beus and Christina (Lorenzo) Hernandez. She was a wonderful Tia to many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her canine companion, Jasmine; and many friends, relatives and loved ones. She was a loving sister and aunt who always worked hard and encouraged all young people in her path to do the same, whether it be in school or a job. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, free spirit, zest for life, unfiltered opinions and her fierce love of family. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary, 204 S. Stone Avenue (South Chapel), with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Avenue, at 9:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery Mausoleum, 3555 N. Oracle Road. Services will also be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Frances Cathedral, 231 Cathedral Place at 10:00 a.m. Her family wishes to thank all those who cared for her over the past 10 months, especially the 650 wing of Tucson Medical Center and the American Red Cross. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the American Red Cross of Southern Arizona. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY

Kathleen brought joy and laughter to my life she was one of a kind!! She blew in to my life like the wind and was bright the the sun. She was the salt of the earth. She would bring Her beloved Dog Jasmine in to my business (Tone Spa) and show us all the tricks she could do and it was delightful. She loved Jasmine so much and that´s how I remember Kathleen someone who had a Hugh heart and wasn´t afraid to share her love. I miss you Kath!!!!

Kathleen had a wicked sense of humor and a very big heart. I loved her like a sister and will never forget the time I had with her while she was at my business (Tone). First and foremost she was my friend.

What a sad, sad day it must have been when Kathy passed away. She was so loved by so many for so many wonderful reasons. It saddens me terribly that I didn't know she was sick for so long then passed away in March, 2017. I feel so guilty and ashamed for not visiting her years ago and seeing if I could be her friend once again. Shame on me. I can only hope that when I die I get to go where she is now, so that I can see her and ask her for forgiveness. Kathy was a very special person who brought joy, laughter, happiness, and life to many people. I think back now at something she told that I'll never forget... After we divorced she told me on more then one occasion "Chuck, I gave you five of the best years of my life"! Now I look and think back to those years we spent together and I realize she was right, she did gave me five wonderful years and many fond memories of her in my life. She was so very special, I'll never forget her.

To The Garduno Families, I am so very Sorry for your loss I just Saw this today and My prayers are with you.

March 25, 2017

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Garduno family, I am so sorry for the loss of Kathy. She was a good friend during our high school years. Prom night was very exciting hanging out with her and her date. School activities were made more fun just being in the same area as she. She will be missed, thank goodness for fun loving memories.
