My Dearest Dad, I knew this day would come, but you were such a fighter. You seemed to bounce back from whatever came your way. I started to wonder whether you were going to live to be 105! You lived a long life taking each day with such calm, not letting things get you down. You had a great attitude Dad, maybe that's what kept you going for so long. After Mom died 7 months ago now, it was so evident that with her she took a part of you, and although you were no longer together, you still couldn't live without her. You missed her so much, you just wanted to be with her. You were a good man Dad. I will miss you so much, but I take comfort in knowing that you and Mom are finally together again. In the last few months of your life, you would tell me you were going to die of "tirizia." I had never heard of that word, "tristeza" yes. You said the meaning of that word "tirizia" was sadness and a broken heart. Your heart need not be broken anymore Dad. You've come to the end of your journey. I love you Dad, Yoldie, daughter #1, as you would refer to me.
