Rafael Bustamante CARRILLO

CARRILLO, Rafael Bustamante 88, passed peacefully on September 21, 2017 with his loving wife of 64 years, Amelia by his side. Preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Bustamante; father, Emilio Carrillo and brothers, Ronnie and Tito. Survived by his children, Roxanna (Edward), Rosalyn (Edward), Regina, Rafael (Cindy), Robert (Gabriela), Roman (Christine); brothers, Robert (Betty) and Henry (Rachel +); sisters, Lupita and Rita. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family in Mexico. Rafael served in the Korean War as an MP and retired from DMAFB in 1990. He was rooted in traditions which he passed on to his children and the generations that followed. His family values, work ethic and love for the auto mechanic trade was evident in the "shop" where he taught many his passions of life. His days of hunting and love of the outdoors was present in all he did. Rafael found joy in reading and talked often about his ancestry as well as the importance of obtaining an education. Rafael, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend gave of himself so others could prosper. His generosity will not be forgotten and he was seen as a man above all others in the eyes of those who loved him. Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Saturday, September 30, 2017, 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
