Federico "Sonny" Acedo

Federico (Sonny) Acedo born March 2, 1947 in Tucson, AZ, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, after fighting leukemia. He is preceded in death by parents, Mike and Katie Acedo. He leaves behind sons, Federico (Terry) Acedo, Mario (Felicia) Acedo, Emilio Acedo and daughter, Cecilia Acedo. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Taylor, Jayden, Tavia and Mario Jr., as well as brothers, Mike (Lorena) Acedo and Edward Acedo; his sisters, Julia Acedo, Celia Acedo and Kathy (David) Gutierrez. Freddie was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and based in Germany. Freddie worked for and retired from the City of Tucson. He will be remembered lovingly by his family as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Freddie's family was his biggest priority giving them many beautiful days and years to look back to. Freddie was an avid golfer, played for Pima College, winning many amateur tournaments, with El Rio being his home course. Special thanks to his nieces, Marie and Rosalinda Acedo, for being there for Freddie during his last few weeks. His life will celebrated with a Memorial Mass at St. Margaret's Church on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Tee (organization for young golfers).
