Carolyn Nettie REYNOLDS

REYNOLDS, Carolyn Nettie (Hosler) was born July 5, 1917 in Flint, MI. She died on December 8, 2016, in Tucson, AZ, at the age of 99. Carolyn graduated from Central High School in Flint, attended MI State College and Baker Business College. Carolyn met her husband, Jim in high school and both sang in the church choir. They married June 28, 1939. While Jim worked for General Motors and was developing his Stamp and Coin Business, Carolyn had her hands full with three children born two years apart. After traveling to all of the western national parks and monuments on family vacations, they fell in love with the West, and moved the family to Tucson. Carolyn loved watercolor painting of landscapes and vintage buildings in the White Mountain area around Greer. She also expressed her artistry with needlepoint, churning out many beautiful works of art. She loved to sew, and her store bought clothes were modified to fit her and her taste. Carolyn was very involved in her community and was a member of many different organizations, including: Home Makers, Little Service Club, Indian Ridge Garden Club, Tucson Garden Club, Needle Crafters, Embroiders Guild of America, Tucson Desert Museum, Tucson Symphony and El Dorado Home Owners Association- Block 50 (President). While Carolyn's health was hindered at times with hip and knee replacements, she remained resilient and nothing could hold her back from pursuing her interests. Carolyn's strength, passion for life, and kind spirit will be remembered and missed by all who were lucky enough to be a part of her journey. Carolyn is preceded in death by her mother (Jannette Smith) who died of cancer in 1927 when Carolyn was just 10 years old; her father, (Frank Hosler), her two brothers, (Don and Frank), her husband of 60 years (James Seeley Reynolds), and her daughter, (Jeanette Guerrero). She is survived by her sons, Doug (Jan) and Bob (Nancy) Reynolds;, son-in-law, Joel Guerrero, and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Michael (Sandy) Reynolds, David (Terri) Reynolds, Jeff Reynolds, Joel Guerrero, Jennifer (Bob) Leischow, Jordan (Ian) Flynn, Ethan, Emma, Logan, Braden, Ava and Breanna. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Episcopal Church of Saint Matthew, 9071 East Old Spanish Trail, Tucson, AZ at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Rector: The Rev.
