Joyce McCullough PETERS

PETERS, Joyce McCullough Born February 25, 1923 in Meadville, PA, the daughter of William Louis Emmel and Josephine Brant Emmel. Died April 25, 2017 in Tucson, AZ. She was predeceased by her parents, husband George McCullough (1967); daughter, Karen McCullough (1984); husband Homer Peters (2012), and step-son, Donald Peters (2016). Survived by brother, Dale Emmel; niece, Robin Langlois; step-son, Richard Peters and other family members. Joyce and George were accomplished artists who exhibited in the NY-PA-OH area and worked in a wide variety of media. They came to Tucson in 1963 and opened a studio creating stoneware pottery, which was sold throughout the country. After losing George, Joyce continued operating the studio until physical limitations forced her retirement. Homer was Joyce's rock for 42 years. Joyce was a member of Arizona Designer Craftsmen and the UU Church of Tucson on 22nd St. She lived fully and regretted only those things she did not do. No services will be held. Her cremains will be placed with Homer's in a niche at East Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME.
