I have a Beautiful paperweight with the flower inside that was a gift from Lee many years ago. It brings me back to his words of wisdom and peace every time I see it. I learned so very much from him, but especially patients and kindness to others always! Rest in peace my friend! Evelyn

As he was with so many others Lee was my mentor, friend and inspiration for doing the right thing, the right way for students. His unconditional positive regard for others was so refreshing during turbulent times. He continues to inspire me to do better for others.
I miss his laugh, his smile and above all his friendship.

Dr. Lee Scott was an amazing professor. I was a poor Indian kid who had know idea of how to write a research paper or even register for a class. Coach Mielke introduced several of us runners to Dr. Lee Scott. He took us in as family and students.
I recall the first time I ever herd of Beethoven and Bach. Dr. Scott turned off the lights in his Humanities class, asked us to close our eyes and let the music take us on a journey. It was so amazing for for a poor kid such as myself. It was the beginning of my wonderful journey learning about art, architecture, classical music, European history and so much more.
I have collected art in Europe; various parts of the world and an education of history.
I feel sorry for many of the students today who have not been exposed to the Humanities course that I was offered.
Thanks Dr. Lee Scott; I can still visualize your kind smile; as I walked into your Humanities 101 classroom almost 45 years ago at Pima College.

I am still following his vision of unconditional love for all and only w that he were here, to tell him what a huge influence he has had on me and thousands of others. Rest in peace, my friend

I was out of town for Lee's service last year. I admired Lee so much. When I was in his presence there was a serenity that was part of his very being. He truly was an angel on earth. Sylvia Lee

I knew Lee from our work together at what was in the early 70's simply known as "Pima College." He brought love, laughter, trust, and kindness to the college's student, staff, and faculty bodies. We loved him dearly. His gifts will be with us always. Deep sympathy to family members and friends.

Nancy, Susan, and Edwina, I mourn with you. Lee was someone very special in my life. Because he showed me what Christianity was, I became a Christian. In 1971 he married Tom and me. Our ceremony was held in his living room. I looked forward to seeing him whenever I visited Tucson. He will be missed by many.

To Lee's family,
Your husband and father meant a great deal to me for many years. As a Pima person, Lee was one of the many pillars of wisdom who helped construct my personal, professional, and community life. As a member of POAC, his wisdom, compassion, and fierce yet gentle tigerish spirit in support of our common goal was an inspiration despite his increasing years. He is surely resting in peace and watching over us.

I was in the hospital on Christmas Day many years ago and Lee came to the area I was in, said a prayer for everyone there and it meant a LOT to all of us. He also officiated at my father's memorial service and helped the family through a difficult time. Thanks, Lee. Many of us love you and will miss you.

My deepest heartfelt condolences. My life and the lives of all in the Tucson community are richer and better for having known the Scott family. Lee, Kay and David were all beloved and leave spaces that cannot be filled in their passing. Love and Peace, Mary Sue Snider Houser

Edwina,Nancy and Sue we are so sorry for your loss. We loved Lee,kay and David as well. "Lee is the closest person to a saint" are the words I heard from his fellow pastors and I completely agreed. He was also a very real and loving human being. He has done so much for Wesley Campus Center and the students who used it. Sharon and I will miss him greatly and are thankful he was able to conduct our son Darren's wedding last March. Bye old friend and hope to see you one day in Heaven. Stephen and Sharon Lew

I am a better person because of the times that I got to spend with Lee. He had a knack for showing young people that he cared and respected them and their ideas. He made me feel that what I had to say was important and that my opinions mattered. For a teen at the time, you could not ask for more. Thanks Lee. God bless.

In the early 1970's, while a freshman at the University of Arizona, I met the wonderful Scott family. Lee and Kay touched, inspired and taught by word and example I and probably hundreds and thousands like me. I am a better person because of them coming into my life. My heart goes out to Nancy and Sue, Edwina and to the spirit of the great David. In sadness, thankfulness and love,

While some write about a purpose driven life, Lee Scott lived a purpose driven life. This was evident to me when he was my campus minister in 1966. And it remained so right up until the last time I saw and worked with Lee-Sept. 19, 2013-at a Pima Open Admissions Coalition meeting. Lee's dedication, focus and service will continue to live in the hearts of many.
He will rest in peace.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I met Leland Scott and Kaysie Scott while they volunteered to read to students at Tolson Elementary School in the early 1990s where I was the principal. In fact, Tolson students were the recipients of generous contributions of funds in remembrance of Kay's passing. My life has been blessed by the Scott family.
Sincerely,

Lee was one of the first members of First UMC to welcome me when I came to study at the University of Arizona. He bought my friends and I tickets to the Corn Roast in the fall and always remembered us for the next 3 years. He was a wonderful man who touched many lives. I feel blessed that I knew him.

Lee was an angel here on earth and we are all blessed to have know him. Lee was the light in my familys life during great years of darkness. My mother Terri held a special place in Lee's heart and it brings me peace knowing they are now together in heaven. He will be greatly missed, but is in great company now.

My wife, Marlena, and I met Lee and his wife, Kay, in 1987 when we lived in the same west side neighborhood. He and I ventured out together during the Christmas holidays and performed at senior residential facilities. Lee played the flute and I read Christmas stories and poems. We enjoyed doing that.
He frequently played the flute at performances of "The Desert Readers" which I founded in 2005. He told me that it was my 'ministry.' In 2010 he wrote a "Letter to the Editor" of the Arizona Daily Star in which he said in part: "Good works bring joy, music to folks in need." His letter was upbeat and positive.
Just last week we exchanged e-mails about his health and that of my wife's.
We adressed each other as 'Brother' in our e-mails.
Lee was a kind and loving gentleman and we will miss this dear old friend of ours. He inspired and supported me.

Lee was the Wesley Foundation minister when I was a student at the U of A in the early 1960s. We were both flutists, and I had the pleasure of playing duets with him on several occasions. A kind and gentle man, he's surely dusting off his flute now and will doubtless soon be playing flute/harp duets with one or more of the angels.

Well, no doubt Heaven is blessed in a big way now! I am sad for Lee's family. Lee was a big influence on our lives. He was a great counselor when I belonged to Wesley Foundation. He married Gregg and I in 1965. Officiated when we renewed our vows in 1985 and married both our daughters as well. His warm and gentle spirit and his beautiful smile will always be remembered. His demeanor just seemed to be full of GOD's love. Gregg and I were speaking of him and his influence the day he passed. Our prayers will be with the family as they grieve.

Lee was undoubtedly met by cherished family members on the "other side" along with a host of angels! Perhaps he is enjoying a reunion and celebration of his life... Our family knew this soft spoken man for 50 years and feel fortunate in that regard.
