Marianne LARSEN

LARSEN, Marianne Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on January 3, 2017 at the age of 75. Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, she met the love of her life and they have spent almost 58 years enjoying life together. After several years traveling with the military, they lived in Colorado and California before settling in Tucson in 1978. After raising her family well and many voluntary pursuits, she returned to school and then entered the hospitality industry, working with the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau and organizing tours throughout the Southwest for various organizations. At the same time, she was very involved in the parish life of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and, at both the parish and state wide levels, with the Episcopal Church Women's organization. She also made time to be an active member of the Tucson Downtown Lion's Club. A music lover from an early age, she played the piano, enjoyed going to the symphony and developed a keen interest in western music, becoming active in the Western Music Association. Her biggest joy in life was her family who will miss her greatly. She is survived by her husband, Loren; her two children, Kimberly (David) and Glenn (Mary); her two grandchildren, Christopher and Katherine; her sister, Linda and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 3738 Old Sabino Canyon Road, Tucson, Arizona on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Marianne requested that any Memorial Gifts be made in her name to the Reid Park Zoo, 3400 E.
