Robert YESCHEK Obituary

YESCHEK, Robert "Bob" passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Tucson, AZ. Originally from Lac du Flambeau, WI, Bob served his country as a US Air force pilot and lived all over the United States as well as in the Far East and Europe. Bob, Audrey, and Lori settled in Tucson in 1972. Bob's assignments in his 28-year Air Force career included instructing new pilots how to fly, landing an SA-16 amphibious aircraft on the ocean to rescue those in distress, flying U.S. government dignitaries in the celebrated Sam Fox squadron and culminated in being selected as one of the Air Force One pilots for President Lyndon Johnson. After retirement, Bob spent his time diligently working for his Tucson neighborhood and was elected as the neighborhood mayor three times. Bob married his beloved wife, Audrey in 1945 and adored her for 72 years of their marriage. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori and is survived by his wife: his son, Bob (Nancy): three grandchildren, Mike (Shannon), Steven (Melissa) and David (Monica) and his six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the VISTOSO FUNERAL HOME, Oro Valley. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Desert Southwest Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. www.alz.org

I send prayers from Bob's home town of Lac du Flambeau where Bill Sr and Elsie raised Bob and Bill Jr on the shore of Big and Little Crawling Stone Lakes. He attended the Community Presbyterian Church in LDF where we were always pleased when Bob and Audrey would stop on their yearly visits back home. What an amazing life with Audrey and family. I treasure a number of historic photos that Bob shared with me taken in 1922 around Yeschek's Crawling Stone Lodge. I live on property that was platted by Bob's Dad also in 1922. We all have beautiful memories of Bob who grew up in the middle of the Lac du Flambeau Chippewa Indian Reservation. I'll miss the amazing stories from a WW2 and Air Force 1 pilot. Rest in Peace.

Bob was a fine man and always had a smile on his face and a kind word. He and his wife, Audrey, and daughter, Lori, were part of our Davis Monthan Base Chapel family. My husband and I were honored to have known Bob. Prayers and thoughts go out to you Audrey. Angela

One of the most important families in my life time. As neighbors in DC/Maryland
in the mid 60's, my parents John and Donna enjoyed a close friendship with Bob and Audrey for many decades to come. That relationship spanned Air Force retirement years and a friendship that brought them
all to Tucson where the bond continued.
Bob, graced the world with an infectious smile and intense love and devotion for family and friends, always demonstrating high standards that he valued for himself and for everyone that entered his life.
Bob you were a class act - RIP
Love,
