J. Richard HANNAH

HANNAH, J. Richard born November 27, 1930, passed away October 30, 2017. Survived by sons, John R. Hannah (Kendra Tollackson) and Nathan B. Hannah (Kristine J. Hannah); daughter, Wendy Gough; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and sister, Marilyn Bulkeley. Preceded in death by his wife of 59+ years, Rita G. Hannah and brothers, Bruce F. Hannah Jr. and Robert Osborn Hannah. Richard was the son of the late Bruce F. Hannah and Cornelia (Pilcher) Hannah and a Tucson native. He was a graduate of Tucson High School, Northwestern University and the University of Arizona College of Law. Licensed as an attorney in 1955, he practiced law in Tucson for the next 15 years. During that time he was active in Republican Party politics, and he served as a trustee of the Arizona State Retirement System. In 1970 then-Governor Jack Williams appointed him to the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County. He served as a Superior Court Judge until his retirement in 1997. In retirement he and Rita traveled extensively. He was also an avid fan of the UofA Wildcats and the Chicago Cubs. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Rincon Congregational Church, 122 N. Craycroft Rd., Tucson. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
