Dear Phyllis, Sherri, Amy, and Judy, So sorry to read of Merrill's passing. He was a great man who was loved, admired and respected. Fond memories of the carpool mornings to Townsend Jr. High that he took part in, along with you, Phyllis, and my Mom and Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your extended families at this time.

I am a parent of two boys who attended Sewell Elementary when Mr. Merrill was a crossing guard on Fifth and Chantilly and although they are now both in high school, we often think about him when we are driving by that street. He had a lasting impression on all the students and staff. I remember when he won Crossing Guard of the Year, we were all thrilled. Thank you for sharing him with us for all those years. He will be missed!
