It is with a sad heart that I send this extremely belated condolence to Mrs. Alday and family. Armando and I had classes together at Wakefield and Pueblo. He was just the nicest and kindest person and friend an anyone could ask for, and for certain he is missed by many.
I married and moved from Tucson in the early 60´s, and as a result lost touch with Armando and many others. This evening, while reading, a similar name was mentioned in the text. I stopped right there and set out to contact him via the internet; that´s when his obituary came up. So very sad to learn of his passing . My heart goes out to his precious family and dear friends. May God bless you and keep you.

To Armando's family: I was a beginning counselor at Pistor Junior High School,
with Armando being senior to me in age and
experience. Frankly, I just loved him. I made so many mistakes in the beginning. Armando and I would debrief our very intense and sometimes tragic days for at least 45 minutes every single day for 2 years. He adored his family and told me many great stories. He was very passionate about his work as well. He was a brilliant star in my life and although we didn't keep in touch...I have always and will always love and miss him. It seems special that I googled him today and that I "found" him. I will pray for his soul, departed to the mercy of God. His death is just so hard to learn of. I am so very sorry. Love, Carol Maxwell Miller, Ph.D.

To the Alday Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

Although I didn't know him, Armando sounds like he was a good, kind, loving man; husband and father; teacher; and a friend to all who knew him. That, in and of itself, is truly a great legacy. It sounds like he had a positive impact on students and his fellow teachers. I wish I could have taught with him. My love and prayers, as well as my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family, Frannie. God give you strength during this difficult time.

Fran,
In the next months everyone you see will ask "How are you doing?" It's a trite phrase, but I haven't been able to up with anything better, either.

I was so shocked to read of Armando's passing just now. I didn't know him at Pueblo as he was 3 yrs ahead of me, but I worked with him at Blenman Elementary, when I was teaching 5/6 grades and he was our counselor. We had such good laughs. I remember he dressed up like a cheerleader at Halloween. I think I was Miss Piggy. He helped so many of our students, and was a true child advocate. He certainly earned his wings. My deepest condolences. He was a fine person and will be missed by many. Blessings

I had not heard from Armando since our 25th(?) Pueblo High School reunion, unfortunately. Still, I was stunned to learn of his passing. Armando was a kind, patient, and generous man, above and beyond his admirable achievements.
I do wonder why I was shaken more than one might expect from losing a friend, yes, but from many years past. I think it is because there is an underlying sense of concern, and perhaps guilt, that I may now be taking a space on this earth that would have been better occupied by more of the better human qualities Armando demonstrated so well, yet so humbly.
My condolences to the family and all who knew and loved this special, gentle man.
