Larry & Mindy,

There are no words to ease the loss of a child. I felt like I knew Brad thru all the wonderful stories Rueben and Jeanne shared of Brad coming to stay each fall and go hunting with you and Rueben. My heart is so sad for you and your family. You raised a wonderful son .... who was so obviously loved and respected by many.

Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences for your family during these trying times as we try and understand why God has called you home so early. We have truly lost a great man and friend with Brad's passing. I had the benefit of knowing Brad for many years, first meeting at mines in the Powder River Basin, then the honor of working together at Excel, and then as friends just trying to help each other out in the business world, in all this time I never witnessed Hawk without a smile, just like the photo.

Whatever Hawk was involved with he gave it his all. From coaching his girls in softball (which we requested no more running the bases), football, to whatever Hawk committed himself, he was all in.

One of my fondest memories was one night when Scott Kreger, Chris Dewitt, John Whitelock, Hawk, and I where at my home late into the evening. Chris decides he wants to wrestle. He starts out with Scott and that doesn't end well for Chris. He moves on to Brad, everyone in the rooms knows this is a mistake but Chris. As you can guess, it was much like a comedy show watching Chris try and move Brad. I used the word move because Chris had absolutely no hope in pinning Brad as he would have to move him first. Once Brad had enough, he pinned Chris in less than two seconds.

I know my life is better having the privilege of knowing you and having been able to call you my friend, God Bless until we meet again.

Brad was a special guy. Even though he was a cousin to my husband he always called him Uncle Bob and me Aunt Karen. Brad and my husband were very close.I always said he was the son Bob never had. Brad will be missed so very much.I'm having a really hard time wrapping my head around the fact he's gone. I pray for his family to find the strength to get through this loss. I know it's going to take time, as well understood. I love you all, Karen
