Elizabeth "Libby" Johnson

Elizabeth "Libby" Johnson 88, passed away on March 10, 2011. Born in Milwaukee, Wis. to Maude (Miles) and Harry P. Walker, she grew up in Plainfield, then attended the U of Wis. where she met Wes, her beloved husband of 54 years. She exhibited her flair for designing new and remodeled homes as they moved about while raising four children. Her love of creative writing won her many prizes such as a trip to Europe, the World's Fair in Seattle, and a new car. Retiring to North Carolina and Florida, her church(es), volunteering, bridge and enjoying the many friends she'd come to love over a lifetime kept her busy. Her devotion to family, incredible zest for life, courage, and gracious spirit, especially during her illness in Tucson, will be forever cherished by her family. Predeceased by her husband, Wesley Johnson; daughter, Joan; son, Leonard; sister, Jean Wilkins and brother, Harry Walker. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Schladweiler (Jon) and her two sons, William (Becky) and Daniel. She also leaves five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family is deeply indebted to her many caregivers over the years, especially those at Mountain View Care Center in Tucson, AZ. A Memorial Service is planned at Oconomowoc, Wis. on Saturday, May 28, 2011. Arrangements entrusted to ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 742-7901.
