KIEFFER, Eric Wayne 36, of Marana, passed away on January 1, 2017 in Marana, AZ. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Oro Valley, AZ, with Chaplain Capt Pokorny and Pastor Gathers, officiating. Burial will follow at the Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 15950 N. Luckett Rd., Marana, AZ. Eric was born on November 19, 1980 to Robert and Barbara (Downs) Kieffer in Tucson, AZ. He attended school at John Jay High School, San Antonio, TX for 12 years and the Community College of the Air Force for two years. Eric recently married Maranda Wilson and lived in Marana, AZ. Eric worked as a Master Sergeant for the United States Air Force for 16 years. He was a veteran of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal. ERIC was an avid civilian skydiver with more than 750 parachute jumps. Eric is survived by his wife, Miranda; his stepson and stepdaughter, Rudy and Vivian; his brother and sister, Christopher and Jennifer; his parents, Bob and Barbara; his nephew and niece, Rafael and Celine; his uncles, Rick and Jerry; his cousin, Jason and his grandparents. Pallbearers will be Active Duty United Stated Air Force service members from Eric's most recently assigned military unit, 68th Rescue Flight (RQF).
