Guadalupe Guitron Obituary

GUITRON, Guadalupe, March 6, 1931 - March 5, 2011, 79, of Tucson, AZ went to be with Our Lord Saturday, March 5, 2011 at her daughter's home in Maryland. Born March 6, 1931 in El Paso, TX, she was the daughter of the late Guadalupe Serna and Toribia Ramos Serna. She married Charles Joseph Guitron of San Francisco on April 14, 1952. He passed away on November 23, 2009. Lupe (as she was fondly called) worked for the advertising department of Macy's in San Francisco, CA. After retiring, Lupe and Charles moved to Tucson, AZ in 1994. Lupe was a very active member of her beloved St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and was instrumental in starting "Thy Will Be Done" healing ministry and prayer group. Lupe is survived by three children; Lydia Foutch (Bill), Charles Francis Guitron (Maureen), and Terri Guitron Pollack (John); nine grandchildren, Kevin Foutch, David Foutch (Erin), and Robert Foutch (Michele) of Maryland, Jennifer Surowski (Chris), Alicia Smith (Kevin), Melissa Guitron, Charles Paul Guitron, and Frank Guitron of California, and Justin Pollack (Kim) of Colorado; eight great-grandchildren, Mina, Trey, Irie, and Elan Foutch, Neal Smith, Sol Pollack of New Mexico, Miles Pollack and Leila Pollack; sisters, Maria Dolores Warwick and Soledad Vargas (Max); and brother, Frank Serna (Claudette). In addition to her parents and husband, Lupe was predeceased by eight sisters and brothers; Alberto Serna, Reynaldo Serna, Anita Valdez, Maria Luisa Nava, Eduardo Serna, Manuela Ema Serna, Guadalupe Serna, Alfonso Serna. Viewing is scheduled Friday, March 18, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 North Northern Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85704. Funeral Mass is scheduled Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8650 North Shannon Road, Tucson AZ. Graveside Service will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery 3555 North Oracle. Family and friends will be received at the home of Lupe Guitron following graveside services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in memory of Lupe Guitron at 8650 North Shannon Road, Tucson, AZ 85742.

She was my aunt. she had several terms of endearment for me such as preciosa, mihita, and others. I can still remember her saying them and the way she said them. I remember the love she had towards me as a child. She had a big warm body that I loved to hug. She has a very special place in my heart because when I was going through a very hard time in my life she came there to see me and show her support and concern. I wished I could have seen her more over the past years, it has been so long. She will always hold a special place in my heart, and she is one family member that it hurts to see go.

Lupe was a kind, sweet, and holy lady and I have such fond memories of our pilgrimage to Spain, Portugal & France in 1999. I know she went straight to heaven! She is now praying for her family and friends. I will miss seeing her at Mass!
