Leonor Sedor

Leonor (nee Aguilar) Sedor 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2011. Born in Los Angeles, CA in 1923, she died in comfort at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson. Beloved wife and mother, Lee leaves behind her husband, Steve J. Sedor, Jr.; children, Steve (Janet) Sedor, Maria (Juandedios) Lopez, Paul (Darlene) Sedor, Chris (Karen) Sedor and Michael Sedor, as well as dearly loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters. She loved and enjoyed all of Steve's family members as well. Leonor's 87 short years were filled with accomplishments and were a source of pride to all who knew her! She attended Davis Elementary, John Spring Junior High and Tucson High Schools. In 1945 she served her country by enlisting in the Women's Army Corp and Women's Air Force in Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio where she met Steve! They married in 1948 and began their family. She supported her husband in his USAF career, while traveling and working in Civil Service herself until his retirement back in Tucson. Leonor was featured by local and national media for her service in the WAFs/WACs receiving special recognition from the White House in Washington D.C., for "Women in Military Service". After she retired from Civil Service she earned her B.A. degree in 1979 from the University of Arizona. Leonor was supportive of the Arts, loved bowling and card games with her many friends and brothers and sisters, delighted in traveling with Steve and her children. Filled with gratitude and peace Leonor departed on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Sweet peace, Mother! A Memorial Service will be Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m with Military Honors at 6:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., with a Deacon from St. Odilia's Catholic Church officiating.
