Milton LALOSH

1916 - 2018

LALOSH, Milton 101, passed away peacefully January 10, 2018 at Solterra La Cholla. Milton was born Milutin Lalos in Madison, Wisconsin April 20, 1916 to Joseph and Elizabeth Lalos. He legally had his name changed to Milton LaLosh in 1969. The family moved to downriver Detroit area before he began school and he lived in that area until September 2016 when he asked to move to Arizona "where it isn't so cold". After high school, Milton had begun working at Ford Motor Company when he was called to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served three years nine months as Private First Class in the European theater. He worked as a maintenance welder in the steel mill for more than 49 years at Ford. He was an entrepreneur who started and operated several sewer cleaning businesses in the 50s and finally retired in 2012. He was a fisherman, North American big game hunter, certified scuba diver, and a master gardener. His tomatoes in Michigan were legendary - he used 10-foot stakes and a ladder to harvest them and gave away hundreds of pounds of tomatoes and cucumbers every year. He enjoyed traveling from Russia to Brazil to Hawaii. Milton enjoyed reading, coin collecting and bird watching/feeding. Although very hard of hearing, he had a twinkle in his eyes and loved to make people smile. He had a loving heart and cared for those in need. Milton was married to Dona for over 70 years when she passed in January 2017. He is survived by his sister, Milka Jelacsity; his daughters, L. Candice Green and Rebecca (Jim) Gill; grandchildren, Erin Gill, Melissa Gill, and Ben Gill and Tula (ShuShu) Green his favorite Bedlington terrier. A private remembrance will be held. No memorial fund has been established, but his memory can be honored by contributing to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel.
