William Henerfauth Obituary

HENERFAUTH, William J., our Dad had to leave us to join our Mom, Juanita in Heaven on March 5, 2011. He was born January 7, 1923 in St. Louis, MO to William and Della Henerfauth. Dad was a Marine during WWII as well as the Korean war. When he got out of the Service in 1952, he and our mother came to Tucson to join his parents who moved here in 1949. He worked at Southern Pacific Railroad and retired after 32 years. He was also a carpenter and built most of the dozen homes we lived in all around Tucson, as well as many others. Dad was a member of the Craftsmen Lodge #717 in St. Louis, MO for 60+ years. He is survived by daughter, Kathy Duff-Stewart (Jeff) and son, Bill Henerfauth (Sue); grandchildren, Joy, Elizabeth and Dylan; great- grandchildren, Kimberly, Nathaniel, Cora and William. No services at his request but a friends and family gathering will be held at a later date. Many thanks to Odyssey Hospice care and Feel at Home assisted living for all their help and care. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.

Truly a loving soul, my Uncle Bill. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. I will always smile when I think of him walking through the door wiping the sweat off his tanned face, having just been outside building something wonderful. He was an amazing man.

William Henerfauth, my great grandpa. As a young girl I can remember stealing the fresh veggies and fruit from his beautiful garden, to this day I do not know how he could keep it all so green and fresh. He had made me doll bed and other great toys from wood. I cannot believe the things my great grandpa could make out of wood. I once wrote a paper on my grandpa, it was title “The Greatest from the Great Generation.” I think that tells all on a great man, you will be missed greatly.

Saoory to hear of you loss. Lived beside Bill for 12 years and really enjoyed knowing him. His skill with wood always amazed me.
