Gerald Emerson MOORE

1928 - 2017

MOORE, Gerald Emerson Gerald was born in Ohio on March 2, 1928 to Reuben and Della. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. He married Joyce Ann Prigmore on July 14, 1969 in Kentucky. They divorced in Arizona in 1997, but remarried in New Mexico in 2009, on the original anniversary date. They traveled the country before settling down in Tucson. The couple remained loving companions through the rough times when Gerald's health declined. While at the VA Hospital, they exchanged letters when visits became hardships. In one passage, Gerald writes, "Take care of yourself - I will always love you. Do what is best for you! I will be home as soon as I can be..." Gerald sought care at Villas de Bella. Without her GEM, Joyce was unable to thrive, and passed away on June 28, 2017. Four months later on October 31, 2017, Gerald united with his soul mate. A Viewing will be held at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Chris, chaplain with Soreo Hospice will officiate. Joyce and Gerald will be buried together at the VA Memorial Cemetery, and once again find solace in each other's company on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Love shared in Life is not conquered by Death.
