Jessie Armstrong Obituary

ARMSTRONG, Jessie, On Friday, April 1, 2011, the gates of Heaven swung open wide as a faithful servant went home to be with her Savior, Lord, and King. Jessie Armstrong, 92 years young, is survived by her sons, Edwin (Angela) and Melvin (Noemi); three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In her younger years (her 70's and 80's), Jessie was a very active member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. In 1936 she and her husband, Cullen became members of Mt. Calvary. Jessie was Mt. Calvary's second oldest member. Jessie will always be remembered for her kindness, sincerity and for her love of life. She lived her life to the fullest and instilled her sense of fairness and pride in all of us. She will truly be missed but the lessons she taught us will never be forgotten. Jessie's home going Celebration will be held at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 210 E. Lester, on Thursday, April 7, 2011. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Celebration Service from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at South Lawn. Repass will follow interment at Mt. Calvary's Fellowship Hall.
