Harold David Harmon age 77, died peacefully at his home in Oro Valley on March 19, 2011. Dave moved his family to Tucson from Springfield, Illinois in 1958. He retired from Magma Copper in 1988 after 30 years of service as a journeyman mechanic. He served as a deacon in Amphi Bible Church and Casas Adobes Baptist Church. His favorite hymn was "He Lives." Dave was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues for a number of years at Golden Pin Lanes. A loyal sports fan, Dave cheered the UofA Wild Cats basketball team during his last days. He is survived by his wife, Joann Harmon and sons, Jerry Harmon (Nan Badgett) of Tucson; Craig Harmon (Myrna) of Show Low, AZ and Kevin Harmon (Colleen) of Cibolo, TX and four grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends to honor Dave's life is planned for a future date. Memorial donations may be made to Smile Train www.smiletrain.org. Dave was a good man. He fought his illness to the end but it finally took him over. He is in a better place where he has no illness any longer. May God continue to take care of and provide guidance to JoAnn and the boys.
