Iona Mimna Obituary

Iona Gwendolyn Mimna Mrs. Iona G. Mimna of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Hubbard, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, following a long illness. Born Iona Gwendolyn Beals to Roy E. Beals and Margaret Wechenheiser on December 30, 1925. Mrs. Mimna married Paul Owen Mimna Sr. on August 28, 1943. They shared a 61 year marriage of love and adventure. Mrs. Mimna was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was always available to family and friends for support, guidance and help. Mrs. Mimna was a long-time member of Holy Way Presbyterian Church where she played an active role in many church activities. She leaves a legacy of love and faith for her family and is sadly missed by all. Besides her parents, Mrs. Mimna was preceded in death by her husband, Paul who died on October 15, 2004. She is survived by her three children, Robin Knapik, Paul O. Mimna Jr. and Roy A. Mimna. Mrs. Mimna leaves six grandchildren, Elizabeth J. Mimna, Richard A. Mimna, Nicole Flecher, Richard J. Pappa, Jennifer Johansen and Rachelle Harvey. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Erica, Casey, Nicholas, Anthony, Kirstie, Damien and Caleb. A Service will be held in her memory at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Holy Way Presbyterian Church, 4221 W. Ajo Way in Tucson. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE CREMATION AND BURIAL.

I love and miss you and thank you for all you taught me and how you showed me how to be a devoted mother and wife but most importantly to love the Lord with all my heart. I know we will meet again in Heaven.Love to all.
