Just learned about Raul's passing. I served with Raul in the Air Force and can say without fear of contradiction that he made a difference with his professional contributions and presence. He was universally very highly regarded by his colleagues. Linda and I consider it a privilege to have known him.

Raul Barbara personified what every american and christian aspires to be: a great man, an exemplary military officer, a tremendous friend, a loving father and a superb husband and companion to my dear sister Mary Lou. Their's was a true Camelot like romance and marriage in every sense of the analogy: the highs and lows that accompany a couple truly in love, but more importantly a union in which their love and friendship over the years was true, deep and forged in a christian ethic and loyalty sealed by God's personal blessing. Raul leaves behind a legacy of love so apparent in his children and in a wife that will realize joy from their experience for a lifetime.

I am so sorry for your loss. Even when our family lives a full and long life we can never prepare for their leaving. God has put eternity into our hearts and will satisfy that desire (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Our friend Raul has gone to join the glorious family of angels surrounding our God in heaven, the keeper of all sweet, kind souls of which Raul is one. Nice guys do finish first and Raul will be first in line to praise his Lord and Savior in a hallelujah chorus. We will miss our friend Raul and pray that one day we will meet again in heaven. Love always.
