Despina "Diane" ASPIOTIS

ASPIOTIS, Despina "Diane" 93, of Tucson Arizona passed away peacefully on November 3, 2017. Despina was born on April 26, 1924 in Kardamyla, Chios, Greece to Nicholas and Kyriaki Pappi. She married Emmanuel Aspiotis in 1947 and they immigrated to Brooklyn, New York with their newborn daughter, Claire, in 1948. Her two sons followed, Stephen in 1952 and Nicholas in 1959. She was a dedicated homemaker and restaurateur. Emmanuel and Despina retired to Tucson in 1978 and devoted their time, love, and efforts to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and the Community. Despina is survived by her daughter, Claire (Sotirios) Mitsios; her son, Nicholas (Kelly) Aspiotis, and her grandchildren, Maria (Sean) Murphy, Elias (Jennifer) Mitsios, Emmanuel Aspiotis, and Stephanie Aspiotis, as well as four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emmanuel and son, Stephen. Viewing will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd., from 6:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m., with Trisagion Service at 7:45 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1145 E. Ft. Lowell Rd. Interment to immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A.H.E.P.A.
