Marjory Heacock Obituary

Marjory Frances "Midge" Ebert Heacock passed away September 5, 2015 after 100 amazing years. Born in Eugene, OR on April 14, 1915, she grew up in Echo, OR and attended Oregon State College (now Oregon State University) where she met her husband of 55 years, W. Arthur Heacock. She is survived by her son, Gary (Marilyn) Heacock of Glendale, AZ; her daughter, Lindy Doherty of Tucson; three grandchildren, Tim (Jackie) Heacock of Chino Hills CA, Chris Doherty of Tucson and Kelly Doherty of West Hollywood, CA and five great- grandchildren, Kassie, Anthony, Madison Heacock and Jhayde and Chase Doherty. Preceded in death by her father, Arnold C. Ebert, Sr.; her mother, Frances Ebert; her brother, Arnold C. Ebert, Jr.; her son, Bill Heacock and her son-in-law, Joe Doherty. Midge and Art lived in southern California until his passing in 1991 and moved to Tucson in 1994. Very active with her daughter and the Raytheon Family Group, Midge enjoyed bowling, bunko, traveling, playing cards and drinking martinis. We will miss her beautiful smile, her wit and her "Grannie-isms". The family wishes to thank everyone at Abella Manor Senior Care, especially Carol and the wonderful staff at TMC Hospice. There will be a gathering of friends and family at Lindy's home on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Arrangements by NEPTUNE SOCIETY.

We were blessed to have shared a martini (actually, Midge "borrowed" mine before ordering an identical one for herself!) recently when Lindy's motor home caravan rumbled into Santa Cruz. What a privilege it was to have seen Midge at her 99th & 100th birthday parties! So full of life, a very special person, matriarch of a very special family. "Midge&Art" are reunited, and I hope they share a martini (Chopin vodka, up, extra cold, no vermouth, olives) for the rest of us!

Midge was always a "LADY". She touched so many including Ed and myself. My fondest memory is sharing her last Christmas at our condo in Sedona. Special times to treasure! Love and hugs to her family, Ed and Peggy

I look in your room to see if you are still sleeping. But you aren't there. You left without me. I know you are happy and pain free but I still miss you. You are my mother, my best friend. I love you, Mommy.
