Frederic P. "Fred" Emery

Emery, Frederic P. "Fred" Fred, 90, died on January 4, 2018 in Tucson, AZ. He was born in Yakima, WA on September 12, 1927 to George Bradley and Blanche Gertrude Emery. Growing up in Yakima WA, Fred enjoyed hiking and skiing on Mt. Rainier and was awarded his Eagle Scout with two palms. He served in the US Army in Japan during the occupation after WWII. In 1951 he graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi Honorary Fraternity. He enjoyed a long career in the uninterruptible power supply business at several different companies. In 1960, he married Anna Belle Yoder in McKeesport, PA. They lived in Illinois and Wisconsin before moving to California in 1965 with their two sons. Fred shared his love of Scouting by serving as Scout Master for Troop 33 in Tustin CA. Upon retirement Fred and Anna Belle moved to Sun City Vistoso in Oro Valley. He was active as president of the Vistoso Computer Society, treasurer of the Travel Club, and made toys for Seniors for Kids. In 2012 Fred and his wife moved to The Fountains of La Cholla where he enjoyed WII bowling games, Tai Chi Classes and many outings with fellow residents to theaters and restaurants. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Ken (Amy) and Scott (Lori) as well as a granddaughter, Madison and a grandson, Marcus. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church, 3201 E Mountainaire Dr., Tucson, AZ 85739.
