Frederick John "Fritz" ERBE

ERBE, Frederick John (Fritz) age 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 7, 2018 at his home in Tucson, AZ, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was under the care of his loving wife and Casa de la Luz Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1220 West Magee Road, Tucson, with light refreshments following the service. Fritz was born on July 3, 1948 in Rochester, MN., the son of Fred O. and Ednamay (Schmidt) Erbe. Following the death of his father, the family relocated from the Minneapolis area to Boone, LA. Fritz was a standout swimmer and golfer in high school and graduated with the class of 1966. He graduated from Valparaiso University in 1970, where he was a member of the swim team. Fritz was inducted into the United States Army and served at Fort Huachuca Strategic Command Center. Upon his honorable discharge, he relocated to Tucson, AZ, where he was employed by Tucson Electric Power. In 1975 he was united in marriage to Jane Witte Ayer. Fritz and Jane were the parents of two daughters, Julie and Emilie. They were later divorced. In 2010 he married Alejandra Gonzalez, the love of his life. Fritz was the founder and owner of Arizona Accounting Service for over 40 years. His passion was the game of golf and he was well-known in the Tucson golfing community. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alejandra Gonzalez; two daughters, Julie Erbe of Tucson and Emilie Erbe (Josh) Vargaz of Phoenix; two granddaughters, Addison and Chloe Vargaz; his sister, Barbara Smith of Grundy Center, LA; a niece and nephew, Janet Smith (Dan) Kelleher of Frisco, TX and Rick (Becki) Smith of Grundy Center, LA; a stepson, Abelardo Leal and his wife, Saray of Irapuato, MX; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Leal of Chicago, IL; two step- grandchildren, Sophia and Alejandro Leal and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation in his memory. Arrangements by OASIS CREMATION AND FUNERAL CARE.
