Rosemary BRICE Obituary

BRICE, Rosemary E. died peacefully in Lexington, KY, on January 12, 2017 just shy of her 91st birthday. Rosemary was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 63 years, James J. Brice. Rosemary's life was devoted to her family, her Church, and numerous charitable and philanthropic causes. Throughout their marriage, she and Jim enjoyed traveling both with their children and, in later years, by themselves going on cruises to points of interest around the globe. An honors high school student, Rosemary was forced to shelve her college plans after the sudden death of her father so that she could help take care of her mother. She then raised a family of five children who know they repeatedly tried her patience, but could never diminish the unconditional love she had for them, a love expressed in every conversation through the end of her life. Rosemary is survived by all five of her children: Susan Kotchou (Keith) of Walnut Creek, California, John P. Brice (Amy) of Lexington, Kimberly Mackey (Bob) of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Pamela Brice of Hawthorne, California, and Tracey Howard (Jimmy) of Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition she is survived by four grandchildren: Shannon Etnyre (Bill), Lauren Mackey, Andy Brice, and Lily Brice as well as one great-granddaughter, Emery Rose Etnyre. A private family service is currently being planned. Suggested memorials are to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Planned Parenthood. Arrangements by MILWARD FUNERAL DIRECTORS.

So sad to learn of Rosemary's passing. She was a special person, along her with husband Jim. Two of the nicest people my wife and I ever met. The Brice's were good friend's of my parents, Clarke & Jane Bisbee. When my kids were very young, the Brice's offered us the use of their luxurious Condo in Algoma Wisconsin near Door County. They refused any money from us, They just wanted our family to enjoy their condo.
That time gave us so many cherished memories with our children. Barb & I just went to Door County and relived some of our memories on the beach in front of that same condo. Kind and selfless gestures from Rosemary & Jim were huge for Barb & I over 30 years ago, and we still talk about them. I try to live my life like both of them, when dealing with others. It's amazing how people respond to kindness. The Bisbee's will pray for the Brice's and keep the entire family in our thoughts. Her memory will live forever.

Now God has welcomed Rosemary into his house!
Little did she know her act of kindness would be repaid in such a glorious way.
