Mary Margaret Duffy

Mary Duffy (Nee Mary Margaret Regan) born June 29, 1920 in Des Moines IA, died May 16, 2014, Tucson, AZ. The former Sweet Adeline is now singing with the angels after being called home to be with the Lord, last Friday at the age of 93. Originally from a farm near Des Moines, IA. She and her husband, John Duffy raised their family of eight children (including two sets of twins) in Omaha, NE. They retired to the Phoenix/Tucson area in 1978. Mary loved to cook and shop and spend time with family and friends. A devoted Irish Catholic mother who raised her children in the faith sending them to parochial schools through high school. Mary was very fun and spontaneous and will be greatly missed by all including the staff at Bogutz & Gordon, Emeritus on Ina & Synergy. She is predeceased by her husband, John Duffy and her daughter, Patricia Duffy. Her surviving children include Maureen, John, David and Dennis Duffy of Tucson, AZ, Sheila Duffy of Goleta, CA, Elaine Duffy of Peoria IL, and Eileen Duffy of Chandler, AZ. She also has a surviving grandson, Colin Lorenz of Chandler, AZ A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mesa, AZ at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME.
