Kaye TREESE Obituary

TREESE, Kaye Don 85, passed away on March 7, 2017 after a long battle with cancer surrounded at home by his loving wife and four children. He was survived by his "blue-eyed Swedish angel" Carole (Bengson) Treese, who he had been married to for 60 years, after only a six month courtship. He is survived by his children, Karl Treese (Melinda), Jill Walker (Steve), John Treese (Valerie), and Kim Barton (Blake); seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Kaye and his family enjoyed vacationing in the White Mountains. Kaye and Carole moved to Tucson in 1957 from Chicago to work at Hughes Aircraft Company. After 25 years of holding various operational and management positions, he was transferred to Santa Barbara Research Center in 1980. He retired from Hughes in 1988 to pursue an industrial engineering consulting business which he ran for 25 years. Kaye and Carole returned to Tucson in 1997 to enjoy a partial retirement and to pursue hobbies such as model railroading, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, photography, and supporting local jazz music. In 2006, Kaye took on a volunteer project to form the Tanque Verde Valley Fire District. All his life Kaye was a strong proponent of education. He earned his B.A. from the University of Arizona, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Beverly Hills. He was also a registered Professional Engineer. All of his children also earned their college degrees. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Kaye. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Arizona College of Fine Arts/Music Dept., P.O. Box 21004, Tucson, AZ, 85721 to support the production of Jazz Week. There will be a private memorial service. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE HEATHER MORTUARY.

Kaye hired me to my first engineering job in 1973 to work for him and his two Hughes partners, Bill and Robert, at their side-line industrial engineering company, A.E.S, Inc. I remember interviewing him at his house south of Speedway and Kolb. Kay and I designed the plans to move the 85,000 square foot Krueger sheet metal factory from Detroit to Tucson. He was a pleasure to work for, and the project was a success. He made a difference.

I always enjoyed spending time with Kaye and Carole. They always made me feel part of the family. They always had kindness and generosity for friends and family. I share in your loss as I still miss my dad terribly after almost 3 years without him. May God comfort you, console you and bring peace and love into your life during this trying time. May your memories of your life together help lessen your pain a little each day. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Karl and family, I am very sad to learn that your wonderful Dad passed away. I enjoyed working with him before he went to Santa Barbara. I was so young, and he helped me to learn so many things. I never forgot him and never will. My prayers for you all. God Bless.

I only got to meet Kaye and Carole after my son, Michael Schrantz married their granddaughter, Jennifer Treese in 2014. We didn't know at the time we were inheriting a wonderful, kind and caring and joyful couple (in Kaye and Carole) as well! They would make it a point to see us when they came up to Pinetop for summer vacations! What a joy to be around! Kaye, we miss you so much but are so glad you are out of pain and now in the living care of our Lord. We know you are just through the door and we will see you again in a joyful reunion! How much you are missed and loved is a testament of how well you lived your life!

Our deepest sympathies to Kaye's wonderful wife Carole, and their children and spouses. I am way down on the list of people in Kaye's life, but the man shaped my life tremendously when he arranged for my first career job at SBRC in Goleta, California. He gave my family's life a great and prosperous start by reaching out to this green-behind-the-ears college graduate. This was in 1983. Kaye and Carole helped us start our family as we lived within a quarter mile of their home during that seven year period. They had us as guests each Christmas day and countless other times. He was a very generous and loving man. We wish Carole and her very strong family the best of love forever. Thank you, from Don Bushell, representing Pam Bushell (Pellegrino) along with all the Seattle Bushell's and all the Tucson Bushell's
