God gave me an opporunity to touch the past through Bill. His stories were wonderful. He never tired of my questions about serving the Nation in WWII. To read his log book gave me an greater appreciation for the man who served to bring Peace to our world. May the wind be beneath your wings forever. Turn into the wind Bill for your departure is clear.

Dear Jane and Jeremy,
You look a lot like him. Too bad I couldn't have known him, but he sure did pass on to us a great bunch of people. I had an uncle, David Patrick Lauer, in the 8th Army stationed in England during the war. I wonder if they ever met.
That war was fought by very young people, but they weren't kids or children; they were men. We mourn because we're here without them; but Curtis is right, as usual. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Bill was so friendly at the Orient Family Reunions. Growing up he was a friend of my Dad, Theis, and filled me in on some stories about my Dad I did not know. I am grateful to him for that.

Jane, You are also in my prayers. I am sorry for the loss of your Father. Thanks for sharing the story of the zig zag roofs. A real environmentalist! It is part of Tucsons' history and I will smile every time I see one. Gods' blessings.

To All,
We were saddened to hear of the death of Uncle Bill. He was a man full of stories when he visited the old homestead. He was so proud of his family and always filled us in on all the children and grandchildren. We know you will all miss him and the love he shared with you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Aunt Phyllis,
I was so sorry to learn of the passing of my Uncle Bill. I can remember many visit to the Orient compound on Morrow road. It could get very loud, but we all enjoyed many laughs. I was especially fond of our many card games. Now we only have Sister Bea left from our long line of Orient children.
My thoughts are with you and the girls during this sad time. My God bless you and may your memories give you comfort.
With love
