George Abbott Obituary

George J. Abbott 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 3, 2011. George was born in Batesville, IN on December 31, 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolphus and Anna. George is survived by his beloved wife, Edilia; daughter, Viola Majuta (Raymond); son, Fred Figueroa; brother, John Abbott (Martha); grandchildren, Geno Majuta (Michelle), Alissa Majuta, Yvonne Perez (Martin), Freddie Figueroa (Marie) and Marcos Figueroa; great-grandchildren, Genna (Jon), Geno "Grampy's Buddy", Alyssa, Aarynn, Shanessa, Angel (Joe), Alicia, Alexis and Alina and his church family at Midvale Christian Center. George served Honorably in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Edilia in 1980. He retired from NASCO in San Diego, CA after 30 years. They moved to Tucson in 1999. He was affectionately known as "Pop" or "Grampy". George loved bike riding, reading, eating at Mi Nidito, watching the Wildcats win, and most of all, his great- grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
