Melvin Gawne Obituary

GAWNE, Melvin G., eldest of five children; parents, George Melvin Gawne (1889-1967) and Emma Agatha Griswold (1898-1949). Preceded in death by first wife, Muriel Hill Gawne. He is survived by his second wife, Willie Burton Tackett Gawne (Married December 2, 2000); three daughters, Ann M. Taylor, Wendy L. Van Epps and Patricia J. Gabrys; four grandchildren, Bradley and Lauara Van Epps, Brian C. Gawne and Julie A. Taylor; three stepchildren, Marsha Lichtenhan, John and Burt Tackett. Service to be held 11:00 a.m. at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson, AZ Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

I lost touch with Mel over the past years except through my Mom, Esther Griswold Beldin. Sorry to hear he's passed on.

Ann, Wendy, Patti and all the grand kids, I'm sorry to hear of Mel's passing. I always enjoyed talking with him and listening to the stories that he had to tell.
