William Rauh Obituary

William Edward Rauh, Jr. Born September 10, 1934, joined his Lord and Savior early on December 16, 2015 at age 81. Bill was a native Tucsonan and lived his entire life in the state of Arizona. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Aline Rauh, but survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Dorothy and his two daughters, Caryn (Terry) Heller of Greeley, Colorado and Cheryl (Doug) Wild of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ben Heller of Virginia and Matthew Heller of Tucson, Lydia (Michael) Brown of Laveen, AZ, Julia (Jeremiah) Garland of Phoenix, Cecilia Wild and Sophia Wild of Mesa and five great-grandchildren. Bill attended Tucson Public Schools, graduating from Tucson High in 1952. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1959 with a BS in Education, and from Northern Arizona University in 1963 with a Masters of Education. Bill was a teacher for 30 years and spent 24 years at Naylor Middle School where he taught Industrial Arts (woodshop, drafting, etc.) His career also spanned 38 years of sports officiating for football, basketball and volleyball on both the high school and junior college levels. He was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tucson where he sang in the choir and held several offices, including 11 years as congregational president. Memorial Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 830 N. First Avenue, on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Education Fund at Grace. Arrangements by FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN.

I had Mr. Rauh as my woodshop teacher at Naylor Jr. High in the late 70's. It was one of the best classes I had and he was a great teacher. Rest in Peace Mr. Rauh.
