Anna Sharline REEDY

REEDY, Anna Sharline Passed away November 28, 2016, she was born August 21, 1925 in Amarillo, Texas to Lonnie and Katiebel Burch. She attended Amarillo High School and continued her education at West Texas State College. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Business in 1945. While attending West Texas State she was a member of Delta Zeta Chi sorority and the editor of the college newspaper 'The Prairie'. It was also during her time at college her life-long love of flying was born, and was granted her first private pilot's license. After college Sharline met a dashing young soldier named Robert C. "Bob" Reedy and they would soon be married. Shortly after, they moved to Chicago where Bob attended the Chicago Institute of Art and Sharline began her business career. In the late 1950s they would move to Tucson and make it their home for the rest of their lives. Bob preceded Sharlene in rest in 1990. Sharline worked as a cashier for Woodward and Zuber for 12 years before joining E. F. Hutton and Company. She holds the distinction of being the first female stockbroker in Tucson. Her incredible career spanned more than three decades, as she would continue her work with numerous firms in the area. As she approached retirement she resumed her passion for flying, and once again obtained her private pilots license. Sharline was an active member of the Tucson Chapter of the Ninety-Nines Inc., International Organization of Women Pilots and raced in the Annual Cross-Country All Woman's Air Race Classic in both 2005 and 2006. In addition, she also served on the Board of the Pima Air and Space Museum. Sharline was incredibly kind, genuinely loving and had the most delightful and contagious laugh. She was beloved by family and friends alike. She is survived by six nieces and nephews, numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends.
