Donald K. MITCHELL

MITCHELL, Donald K. son of Frank K. Mitchell and Vetsura David, was born October 29, 1927, passed on August 9, 2017 and joined his wife, Maria A. Layne. He and his wife were married for 55 years, both were from the United States Virgin Islands-St. Thomas and St. Croix. Donald served in the Navy at the start of WWII but changed to the Army in 1944 then changed after the Segregation Act was in place to join the new Air Force in the early 1950's. Mom and Dad were married April 16, 1951 and would have one son in 1956, Gerry. Donald served in the armed forces until 1974 retiring after 30 years of service. Mr. Mitchell went on to work at Hughes Aircraft for ten plus years then finally retiring. Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he leaves his son, Gerry and granddaughter, Mika Mari Mitchell. He was laid to rest with his wife at the Southern Arizona Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.
