George W. MCGEE

MCGEE, George W. passed into the loving arms of God on September 2, 2017. He was born in Bridgeport, Nebraska on April 11, 1925 to Keith E. and Mary McGee, and raised in Colby, Kansas. He went to watchmaking school in Missouri, where he met the love of his life, Juanita Puckett. They married on January 18, 1948 and celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing in 2002. They had three children, Peggy Holmes of San Marcos, TX, Keith McGee (Mary) of Chicago, IL, and Victoria McGee (William Hubbard) of Tucson. They were also blessed with five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. George's career as a quality engineer took him to IBM where he spent 25 years and retired in 1988. He served in WWII in the 109th Evacuation Hospital unit, which was attached to General Patton's Third Army. He received five battle stars, the French Legion of Honor, and served as the president of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. George will be remembered by all who knew him as a gentleman, a jester, and a man of great faith and integrity. Active in his church since 1980, George would like, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Immanuel Presbyterian Church, where a Celebration of his Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
