Irene Josephine Kozlowski TOLEIKIS

TOLEIKIS, Irene Josephine Kozlowski passed away peacefully with family in London, ON, Canada on August 9, 2017, joining her beloved husband, Edward M. Toleikis, who predeceased her in 2015. She leaves her children, Steven (Lorraine), Philip and Barbara; four granddaughters, Annise, Hilary, Lauren and Miranda and two great-grandchildren, Bridget and Eric. Born in Philadelphia on June 30, 1925, Irene was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and businesswoman who owned and ran Cherry's Restaurant, a popular Philadelphia spot. She was also a Girl Scout leader, talented quilter, embroiderer, sailor and lover of art. After retirement, Irene and Ed moved to Tucson, AZ, where they participated in SAGE and enjoyed international travel together, Italy being her favorite destination. Irene loved and cherished time spent with family above all. Whether it was sailing in the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and three children or dancing on the sandy beaches of San Diego with her grandchildren, her heart was happy with family. Irene's passion for life, determination and loving kindness have touched many lives and she will be remembered fondly. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Church, to be followed by interment at Our Lady of the Desert.
