Larry Enloe Obituary

Larry Curtis Enloe formerly of Anaconda, MT passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at his home in Tucson, AZ. Larry, the third of five children, was born in Lewistown, Montana, on September 6, 1930, to Albert and Lorraine Stamper Enloe. He grew up in Great Falls, MT and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1948. Larry earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Great Falls College of Education in Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the International Correspondence School. On March 18, 1951, Larry married Virginia Rose Bechard and together they had three children: Larry A., Rosemary and Gloria. Larry C. went to work with the Anaconda Company in 1953 in Great Falls starting as a laboratory assistant and working his way up to Assistant Superintendent in Zinc Leaching. After completing the superintendents' rotation training program with the Anaconda Company, Larry and his family were transferred to Anaconda in 1966 where Larry became the Superintendent of the Copper Concentrator. Larry continued to work for the Anaconda Company Smelter in Anaconda until its closure in 1980 and then he and Virginia were transferred with the Company to Denver, CO and eventually to Anamax Mining Company at Sahuraita, Arizona. Since 1982 Larry and Virginia have made their home in Tucson, Arizona. Larry worked for the Pima County Air Quality Control Division as an Enforcement Officer. He also volunteered with an energy conservation and efficiency organization weatherizing homes for the elderly. Larry served with the Montana Air National Guard until 1969 when he retired with the rank of Major. He was a member of American Legion, Morgan McDermott Post Number 7, and also a member of a veterans' organization called the Forty and Eight. Larry was a Master Mason in Euclid Lodge, Number 58, AF and AM of Montana and a member of Anaconda Elks Lodge, Number 239. In retirement Larry enjoyed visiting family and friends around the country, fishing with old friends in Montana, and was a very talented artist working in stained-glass. Larry is survived by his wife, Virginia of Tucson; his son, Larry (Rhonda) Enloe of Draper, Utah and his daughters, Rosemary (Dave) Paszkiet of Tucson and Gloria (Mike) O'Rourke of Anaconda as well as three grandsons and four granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce Enloe of Rapid City, SD, Howard Enloe of Great Falls and Hugh Enloe of Monarch, MT and by a sister, Shirley Marxer Roehm of Great Falls. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lorraine Enloe and a granddaughter, Sarah Enloe. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Saguaro Christian Church, 8302 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Saguaro Christian Church, 8302 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ 85710. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
