Mary Ann "Mother" Kinder

Mary Ann Kinder "Mother" 11/26/1920 - 5/14/2011 Born in Oakland, CA, Mary moved to Tucson in 1927 to live with her aunt, Mary Wakefield after the death of her mother. Owner of Tucson Warehouse & Transfer Company, Mary attended Mansfield Jr. High and Tucson High School. She graduated from Stephens Jr. College in Columbia, MO; received her Bachelor's degree from the U of A and attended Berkley College. She was a social worker for the American Red Cross, past president of the Tucson Symphony; a member of St. Luke's Board of Visitors, Chapter B, PEO, Kappa Alpha Theta Garden Club, and the Junior League where she became an active participant in the development of the "West" where she pursued her love of needlework. Mother was a volunteer for the Southern Arizona Children's Home and the AZ Historical Society. Mary Ann is survived by her children, Jean Cameron Lyon (Bill) of Ada, OK, Albert E. Kinder III (Sue) of Tucson, Colin Cameron Kinder (Rebecca ) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Laura Curtis of Ann Arbor, MI, Albert E. Kinder IV and Heather Kinder both of Tucson and Steven Lyon of Ada, OK; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ariana, Jack, Tucker, Maddie, Graham, Steven and Alex. For all those whose lives you have touched, you will be missed. We Love You. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite charity.
