Rita was a co-worker at ADJC,a valued AZCOPS member, and my VP. Rita was always helpful, not only with the juveniles, but could be counted on by her team. Always light hearted, and always ready to step up for any of us.
I will miss Rita and her devotion and sense of humor.

I just heard about the passing of Rita through a friend that works at SMH. I am so deeply saddened by the news and so sorry I missed her services. My heart goes out to the Jabczenski family for their loss. It seems like yesterday when Rita, Renee and myself were just kids playing house, store, tag, hide n'seek etc. I am so sorry, she will be missed by many!

My deepest condolences to Rita's family and friends...I first met Rita on one of her first days in orientation for the then, Dept of Juvenile Corrections, later, the Dept of Youth, Treatment and Rehabilitation. I was still a fairly new hire working as a Registered Nurse with years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse. I almost immediately realized Rita was not a typical Youth Corrections Officer. It was not her mere presence that commanded respect by the most challenging of the mentally ill and simply downright mean and angry kids. It was her quiet, soft touch of understanding and empathy she easily expressed towards the kids that made her most invaluable. She did not go unnoticed by those in charge, and she quickly earned her way into a caseworker position. I will never forget the day she approached me to let me know one of our most memorable youths the Dept practically raised from the age of 12 to his 18th birthday was going out on his own very soon. She wanted this young man to go out with a couple, nice pair of dress pants and shirts so he could go on job interviews. She shared with me she was having trouble finding long-sleeve white shirts for this large-size man. I told her not to worry and that I would go on the hunt for a couple shirts over that weekend. I went to a local thriftstore and brought her two, new, white shirts the following Monday. It then hit me that she, herself, paid for this youth's pair of dress pants as well as a pair of dress shoes and a matching belt. Today, I have absolutely no doubt that she showed this act of kindness over and over again during her many years of work with some of the neediest-of-the-needy youths the state of Arizona cared for during the 1990's-2000-2010. I also know that Rita truly earned her wings for eternity in heaven. Rita will be most sorely missed.

To all of the Jabczenski family, As some of you know she was such a beautiful friend to me. I loved her dearly. She will be missed by many. Her laugh and the way she could walk into a party, and say some silly things like "let the party begin am here". Then boy would she have us all laughing, so hard your stomach muscle would be score the next day. Then when you wake up and your score from laughing so hard, you think to yourself, "oh right Rita had me laughing..
I have some Very fond memories That is for sure.

God Bless you all, your all in my thoughts and prayers ❤
