Ruth Irene and Merlyn Large

Ruth Irene and Merlyn Large Ruth, 97, passed away May 15, 2014 in Tucson, AZ where she had been a resident since 1991. She was born in Lincoln, Illinois, daughter of Herman and Martha Oltmanns. She married Merlyn Large in Lincoln, Illinois in June 1946. She retired from the University of Illinois in Urbana in 1981 and they moved to Tucson to make their home. She was a loving and caring wife and mother and will be missed greatly by family and friends. She lived a long and wonderful life. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers. She is survived by her two children: son, Dr. John R. Large and his wife, Bonnie of Tucson; daughter, Janet and her husband, Duane Goble of Tucson; two grandchildren, Colin Goble and Kristen Aguilar (husband, Jonathon); one great- granddaughter, Katie; one sister, Mildred and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, Tucson, AZ. Graveside Services are at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at All Faith's Memorial Park, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes.
