Sharon was the mentor who inspired me to teach. Volunteering in her class and later student teaching across the hall showed me what a great woman and teacher she was. I pray for her family to find comfort in the beautiful angel they have with them.

My sincerest sympathies to Sharon's family for this immeasurable loss. She was a bright light wherever she was, and it was a pleasure to work on the same campus (Booth-Fickett) for many years. Always shared a smile and a warm greeting. She will be long remembered by all of us, but even longer by all the fortunate students whose lives she touched. Wishing her family peace during this difficult time.

To the Houston family,
I am sadden to hear of Sharon's passing. I taught with Sharon at Booth-Fickett. She was a kind person. I always enjoyed running into her and catching up on our children and grandchildren. I know you will miss her, but she is in a better place. I will keep the family in my prayers.

Our condolences to Rick and Sharon's family. Sharon was an amazing teacher with an infectious spirit which inspired her students. Her smile lit up the room, and her genuine friendship with parents gave us all a hope that our children would enjoy school. Her dedication to the Booth-Fickett community was an asset to everyone who came in contact with her. Her loving spirit will be missed by all.

During my senior year at The University of Arizona, I did my student teaching with Sharon (@ Booth). She was so kind and made the experience so enjoyable.
She was also very thoughtful. When I arrived on my first day, Sharon had a little work station she had set up just for me!
Sharon inspired all of her students to do their best and made each one feel special. She also hosted the best classroom parties!
Her thoughtfulness knew no bounds. I can't even begin to describe how touched I was when Sharon and Mrs. Groman (Cooperating Teacher @ Fickett) came to my twin sister's (Tricia Marrapodi) funeral in December 2008.
Sharon was an outstanding teacher. I couldn't have asked for a better role model.

I am so sorry. Not for Sharon. She is simply waiting for those she loves to join her at the right time. I am sorry for world. It is not often that you can find absolutely nothing negative to say about someone. But that was true of Sharon. I remember when I started teaching with her in San Manuel, she saved my job on more than one occasion. She is an amazing soul. All I know is that Heaven is better place.

Sharon was a very special person and loved by many, many people. I first knew her as a squad leader in the UA Band and then as a teacher in TUSD. Her smile and spirit were infectious. The impact she made on hundreds of children and her fellow teachers will always be remembered. Our love to the family hoping that very special memories, your strong faith, and those who are most dear to you help sustain you at this time and always. Joan & David Ashcraft

What a shock it was to learn that Sharon has passed away. I had the pleasure of competing with her (and her brother, John) on the Tucson High Rifle Team in the mid-60's. She was a crack shot and put the boys to shame. We competed all over So. AZ and I know Sharon was very proud of her Varsity Letter. She was always a genuine sweetheart, and a loyal Badger. Obviously she left us too soon, but hers was a beautiful and accomplished life. Sincere condolences to Richard and all of the Heidel and Houston families. Loving memories of Sharon will linger.
