Not sure what to say?

February 4, 2012

I served with Dickie in Vietnam. It was a say day in April 1970 when we lost Dickie. Bravo Company would like to invite the Calderon Family to a Medal of Honor ceremony to recognize the heroic actions of Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo who also served with Dickie. The award will be in memory of Dickie and seventeen other young soldiers we lost from January 28 - May 10, 1970...100 days. So sad to learn that Dickie's father passed last year. I and a few others were in contact with Mary Ann Esquibel, but lost contact after changing her e-mail address. Thank you for your help in this mission.

Betty and I have always had the highest regard for Mr. Calderon...from our time at Silver Bell to Questa to the Globe Miami area and back to Tucson. He was a very fine man and we have some great memories of him. Remember Girls, he lived a good, long life and is at peace now. He is smiling down on you all. Our love and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.

Carol, Margie, Mary Ann and families....my heart is so saddened of his passing. Mr. Sunday was like my second father and he, along with the rest of the family, treated me as one of their own. I know he is at peace now and with your sweet Mother, Reynaldo, Dickie and Betty. Lots of love, thoughts and prayers are with you all. I can still hear him saying (in his own voice) "Hello Veronica, do you know who this is?" Love you Mr. Sunday!
