HARDIN, Elaine C., Tucson family law attorney Elaine C. Hardin, daughter of Harvey and Hazel Ward Hardin, died September 14, 2013 at 64. She was stoic and brave as she faced certain death after a cancer diagnosis in April. Elaine shined her light on many lives through the years. Her wit, intellect and humanity eased the way for friends, family and clients. She was editor of the Palo Verde Post in 1967 and played flute in the high school band and orchestra. She earned a B.A. with honors from the University of Arizona and worked as a journalist in northern California. She later chose law over journalism and graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law. She was admitted to the Arizona Bar in 1981. Elaine was an editor of the Law Review and was honored for her pro bono work. She toured the former Soviet Union with a delegation of scholars in the 1970s, played golf in Scotland and enjoyed riding and her many visits to San Diego and the beaches of Mexico. She is survived by her brother, Robert Steven Hardin and nephews, Jeffrey, Matthew and Lukas. A Memorial Celebration for colleagues and friends Friday, October 4, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the courtyard of her law office at 325 W.
