Bert Vernon Amator of Oracle, AZ, went home to be with his lord on April 23, 2010. Born in Phoenix, AZ on February 27, 1927. Bert served in the U.S. Navy 1946 - 1953. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas from 1951 until retirement and has been residing in Oracle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Alice Amator, sister, Ernestine Shahan, brothers, Gene and Fritz Amator and grandson Jason Amator. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ethel Mae Amator; son, Gary Amator of Vernon; daughters, Susan (Bob) DeVinny of Mesa, Alice Amator of Phoenix and Shelley Amator of Aztec, NM; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Martin of Cashion; brother, Glen (Bonnie) Amator of Goodyear. Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 26, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at Vista De La Montana United Methodist Church, 3001 E. Miravista Lane, Tucson. He served on the Oracle School Board for over eight years and was very active in community service. What we learned from his faith and love of the Lord and his family and service to community and others will forever be in our hearts. We are so blessed to have been part of his family. Romans 12:10.
