Charlotte QUINN

QUINN, Charlotte (Devine) age 88, died on December 31, 2016, at home in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a longtime resident of Sun City Vistoso in Oro Valley until she moved back to her home state in 2015. Charlotte was born in Boonville, MO, the daughter of Michael Thomas and Marguerite (Felten) Devine. A 1950 graduate of Mizzou, she was living in St. Louis when she met Joe Quinn of Sedalia. They married in 1954 and lived in many communities across the U.S., making good friends wherever they were. Upon Joe's retirement, they moved to Sun City, where they lived for 22 years. Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a proud homemaker who said her biggest accomplishment was raising six kids - all unique individuals. She was fun, funny, selfless, strong and diligent. She had a singular sense of style, an eye for color and design, and she loved to create. She was an amazing seamstress who made all of her daughters' clothes when they were young. She liked to knit, needlepoint and do embroidery, and her home was full of her beautiful work. Her other passion was bridge, playing several times a week. She felt fortunate that she and Joe were able to travel the world together, including trips to Guatemala and Alaska in 2013. An avid reader, Charlotte also enjoyed movies, music and theater. She understood the importance of developing mind, body and spirit and really lived life to its fullest. Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Quinn; her parents and older sister, Patricia Kimberley. She will be deeply missed by her children, Melissa (Bob Edstrom), Anne Ulseth (Tom), Matt (Jane), Bridget Kadolph (Dave), Peggy Erickson (Stu) and Will (Laura); grandchildren, Kate, James, Johanna, Berit, Nora, Mary, Kara, Emma, Will, Lucy, PJ and Mary; brother, Tom (Betty) Devine and many nieces and nephews.
