Cliff was a close friend and a wonderful person. He was brilliant, funny, humble, and had a great heart. He will always live in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to meet him.

On behalf of my husband Llewellyn and my Dad Robert, I would like to express my sadness upon hearing of the passing away of Clifford, my Dad's second cousin.

Clifford and I shared a lot in common including a common career in academia, a love for books and a fondness for writing. During our regular phone conversations--mine to him from Connecticut to Arizona--Cliff and I had freewheeling discussions on everything from Indian politics to American football. It was a pleasure to gain interesting insights from him about the state of the world. It always impressed me that despite his visual impairment, he led a full life and never became embittered by his handicap. I think we can all take lessons from him on how to live our lives with dignity, grace and optimism.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Cliff. May His Soul rest in the peace of the Lord.
