David Edward HORN

HORN, David Edward Was born on 1 June 1944 in Morenci, Greenlee County, Arizona to Thomas Oyama and Dorietta Bratcher Horn, and departed from his family on 8 September 2017 at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. His parents predeceased him as well as two sisters, Dorietta Bernice, Brenda Belle and an infant brother, Thomas. Surviving him is his wife, Joyce A. Cooper-Sellars whom he married in 1984. Surviving him are two brothers, Robert Lee and Donald Claude Horn; several nieces, nephews and many close friends. He leaves his daughter, Mary Davette and six grandchildren, Alyssa Nakai, Kiley Justine, Mary Louise, Morgan Fay, Holly Noel and Adam Swade; also the children's father, Edward A. Lowry. We miss our Papa terribly. David went to Morenci schools and graduated with high honors on 1 June 1962, on his birthday. The following December, he was in the Navy. He did basic in San Diego and went to the East Coast for training. David was assigned to the USS Sam Houston submarine. Also, served on the USS Simon Lake for a brief time. David was medically discharged an Honorable after physical enlistment showed diabetes. His occupation was mostly an Electronics Technician, but did lots of different jobs and did them very well. He had a very deep mind and could remember things since 1st grade. A Memorial will be held at LDS, 2002 N. Greasewood Rd., Tucson, AZ 85745 on the 10th of November at 10:30 a.m. in the Relief Society room. Laid to rest in Eagle Creek, Morenci, where he and his siblings lived and grew up, on Saturday the 11th of November about 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. anyone from Morenci and area who knew David is welcomed to come to Eagle Creek.
